    City hall is an important building of the city and a highlight of your visit. In 1842, the former building was destroyed, then the new one was built with sandstone in the late 19th century. The building is about 17.000 square kilometers in area, including 647 rooms for meetings of Senate and Congress.     Alaster Lake is the largest artificial lake in the city. In the middle of the river, you can see a giant statue of a woman bathing in the blue, cool water.     Hamburg is known as the largest port city in Germany. So, there are large and famous fish markets. One of them is Alton fish market — an interesting destination which has attracted a lot of people to visit and shop since 1703. Previously, this market just sold fish and seafood. But now, Alton market sells jewelry, clothes, shoes, and souvenirs. The market opens all week from 5 am to 9 am in summer, and from 7 am to 9:30 am in winter. This is a place for you to enjoy food because it is a culinary paradise with many restaurants and food courts.
