Berlin and the festival

Berlin Festival of Lights is held annually in October. On these days, a series of famous icons, architectural monuments and squares are illuminated and put on a shimmering and fanciful new "outfit".

The festival, lasts for 17 days, brings to local and international visitors gorgeous light art displays. At this time, about 50 famous architectural monuments and landmarks throughout Berlin such as squares, boulevards and modern towers are changed in appearance by colorful lights. They are illuminated by lights, laser lights and especially shimmering under beautiful artistic fireworks.

German Church

In the distance, the German Church is shining fancifully and changing “outfit” constantly during the festival. Behind the church is the broadcast tower covered in purple. The broadcast tower is the tallest building in Berlin with a height of 365m and was built next to Alexander Square. The tower is built like a sphere at an altitude of 200-235m above the ground. Hotel de Rome

When the festival takes place, Germans and international tourists gather at the Berlin Theater to participate in cultural and artistic activities including the "Open City" event and the Jazz festival with artists from 7 different German states. The visitors not only admire the unique light shows, they can also take part in many entertainment activities and watch the fireworks.
